Why Leather?
Leather mugs (bombards, jacks) date back to the 11th century AD. There's just something about drinking from a piece of history. Plus leather has its own inner beauty, is rugged yet flexible, and has ability to hold an embossed design. Perfect for a distinctive drinking vessel.
Why doesn't it leak?
Mugs were traditionally lined with pitch (pine tar resin) or wax. Choices for my mugs are beeswax (which is heat sensitive) or a more modern sealant.

Can I put hot coffee in my mug?
Beeswax lining: no. Modern lining: yes. As a rule of thumb, if it's too hot for your mouth, it's too hot for your mug.

Can I drink alcoholic beverages from my mug?
Check with local authorities, then practice. Yes, though I don't recommend storing alcohol for long periods of time. Drink it, like God intended.

Can you put my drawing on a mug?
Yes, if you created the drawing. I cannot work with copyrighted artwork without written permission from the original owner. If it's not your art, let's talk and perhaps I can design something similar. Check out the Custom Work section.
Can I get a mug that holds a gallon, with a troll riding a pony design, in pink with purple polkadots?

How much will a mug cost?
Cost depends on what you want. Keep in mind that each mug is made from beginning to end by one skilled artisan here in the United States.
